This step of the Guide to Making Gold in World of Warcraft assumes you have a level one character, as detailed in the previous step. Do quests for five or six levels to build up a little money and get your character high level enough to take a Profession. Some early quests also give free bags, which are quite useful for the budding trader.

Once you’ve reached level six, proceed to the nearest major city and find the Profession Trainer for Enchanting. You’ll get several skills, but the one that concerns us is Disenchant. This will allow us to take green and above trash that may not sell and convert it into valuable trade good components that sell for lots of gold. If it’s a character you’ll

Take a moment to hop onto your main and send your trading character some seed money. One gold is plenty, fifty silver is a good start, even a few silver can get you going, but your seed money determines how much you can spend, which determines what returns you can get. If your trading character is your main character, level up enough to have enough cash that you can give some up without gimping your character. Gold, silver, even copper can all generate fountains of free WoW gold.

Once you’re on your trading character with seed money in hand, head to the Auction House.
